On the second day of this month, February- we will hold our breath and watch as that sleepy old groundhog awakes from hibernation and lets the world know if there will be six more weeks of winter of will Spring come early.
No matter, if it is February can Spring be far away? This month gives us many days to celebrate.

- Feb. 5 Boy Scout Sunday
- Feb. 14 Valentine's Day
- Feb. 20 President's Day - a day that we celebrate all American Presidents but especially Abraham Lincoln (2/12) and George Washington (2/22)
- Feb. 26 Lent begins
- Also, February is Black History Month.

February readings are the 5th, 6th, 7th Weeks in Ordinary Time, and the First Week of Lent.
We celebrate the Liturgy of the Word with Children at the 5:00 P.M. Saturday and 9:00 and 10:45 Sunday Masses. After the Introductory Rite the Celebrant invites the children and their catechists to go to their own place of worship to experience the Liturgy of the Word at a level of their own understanding as put forth in the Directory of Masses with Children.
Vacation Bible School
Our 2012 VBS program will be held Monday, June 11th to Friday, June 15th.< /strong>
Your children will enjoy a week of games, snacks, music, and crafts with a theme based on our National Parks. As the children explore St. Gilbert SonRise National Park, they’ll learn the most important survival skill of all: they can always depend on the Son, Jesus, and His promises of True Peace, Riches, Power, Love, and Hope! We present it all in a way that reinforces our treasured and faithful Catholic identity.
The cost to attend VBS once again remains the same, with scholarships available to those who are in need. We want all children to be able to share in the fun and joy of God’s word that is alive at St. Gilbert Vacation Bible School!!
Our Mission is to bring Christ to children in an exciting camp setting.
