Welcome to A Childs Soul is nourished by the Word of God, is our full name but it is just www.achildssoul.com in the URL for this site. I am so happy to see you again. In just a few weeks school will begin, I sure hope our heat wave has ended by then. This issue is celebrating the last month of summer vacation.
LITURGY OF THE WORD w/ CHILDREN
This month we celebrate the 18th, 19th, 20th , 21st and 22nd Sundays in Ordinary Time.
At St. Gilbert in Grayslake, IL. we celebrate the Liturgy of the Word with Children at the 5:00 P.M. Saturday and 9:00 and 10:30 Sunday Masses. After the Introductory Rite the Celebrant invites the children and their catechists to go to their own place of worship to experience the Liturgy of the Word at a level of their own understanding as put forth in the Directory of Masses with Children. All children are invited but we encourage parents to come out with the very young children, until they are familiar with our Liturgy.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
My special thanks to Michelle for her leadership, and the energy and love she gives to Saint Gilbert. Also thanks to Cindy who has been dedicated to VBS for many years, and Linda who has served this ministry since it began many years ago.
I am blessed and very happy to call them all my friends
What a great week we had at Vacation Bible School!
We had 407 children and over 260 volunteers each day learning about Jesus and the Bible!
We collected $900 for St. Bebedict the African and collected 44 cases of food for the St. Gilbert Food Pantry.
We are truly thankful for ALL who attended, volunteered donated and prayed for VBS!
